Well, today was our weight and measurement day at Curves, located at 500 SW 10th St. Ste 301. The owner, Joyce Hunnicutt, weighed and measured myself, as well as my partner in crime and next door neighbor, and DEAR FRIEND, Danna Crawford. LOL We visit this establishment usually 3 times a week, on Mon. Wed. and Fri., and walk on Tue. and Thur.. We have been going now for... 12 months!! OMGosh!! Has it been that long?? It doesn't feel like it! :) When I look back at the very first time we went, back on June of 2010 to the present date, I am discouraged as the difference isn't much!! :( You see, I don't know about you, but I fluctuate so much from month to month! Sometimes more and sometimes less! Making it hard to set your goals and stick to them! Example, I started out with a BMI (body-mass index ) of 23, and ended with 23.2! If your BMI is LESS than 25, regardless of age, puts you at the lowest risk of death from ALL causes----except smoking! Between 25 & 30 reflects mild to moderate overweight, and constitutes only a risk- except if you are diabetic, high blood pressure, or very high cholesterol level. BMI higher than 30 is bad news and requires action! I guess I should be glad that my BMI is less than 25, and my WHR, (waist to hip ratio) is 0.79!
Do you know how to figure your BMI and your WHR (waist to hip ratio)? Multiply your weight in pounds by
700, then twice divide the results by your height in inches. Example if you are 5' tall and weigh 200 pounds, you would multiply 200 by 700, which makes 140,000. 5 feet equals 60 inches, so dividing 140,000 by 60 gets 2,333 which divided again by 60, gives the final figure of 38.9 BMI.
To figure your WHR, you would measure your belly when it is completely relaxed, measure your waist at its narrowest. Divide that number in inches by the widest circumference of your hips, where your buttocks are most prominent. A WHR grater than 0.85 in women, and 0.95 in men is involving risk.
Figure your BMI and WHR, and if you are in the danger zone, PLEASE see your doctor and start exercising and walking and read the labels of the food you eat. You'll be surprised at how much better you feel. Always consult your doctor before starting an exercise program to make sure you are in good enough health to do so...with that said, I wish you all GOOD health! :)

MY PERSONAL REVIEW ON A DRINK PRODUCT
![]() |
Picture from Web Site------Check it out! http://assets.bodybuilding.com/store/prodimage/prod_27049/image_27049_450_white.jpg |
Today, My good friend and neighbor Danna Crawford, gave me a sample of a product I have never had before. The name of it is "On The Go" a complete multi vitamin drink mix. She said for me to tell her what I thought of it. I told her I would. Well, I tried it this afternoon and was impressed. It has extra vitamin C, immune boosters plus, NO calories, carbs, and sugar! There are 30 individual packets in the box, and written on the box "dietary supplement". It comes in: Wild Berry, the one I tried, Lemon Slice, and Orange Rush. It is easy to fix, just empty the packet into a minimum 10 - 16oz glass of water. Shake or stir well and enjoy! It is for adults 18 and older take 2 packets daily. Children 8 to 17 take 1 packet daily. Not recommended for those under the age of 8. Store prepared drink in the refrigerator.
I was pleasantly surprised when I tasted it! I for one, don't like water! I know! I know, you say, WHAT? How can anyone not like water? Well......, I have to force myself to drink water only because I know the body needs it! However, with this product, I think I could drink more water! It doesn't leave an after taste, and it DOES taste good.
The ingredients are as follows for one packet: Calories 0

New Group......The Villerger's Blog.Com
I recently joined a new group at The Villages, called The Villagers Blog. We had our first meeting yesterday, March 30th at a gorgeous facility of the Villages Public Library at Pinellas Plaza, Wildwood, Fl.. They have a Great all purpose room with power point projector, plenty of chairs and tables, and a large screen. The purpose of this meeting, was for a class that was taught by, none other than, Danna Crawford! As usual, with her effervescent personality, and distinguished knowledge of her subject, she began her class of Blogging 101. She started with what a blog was, which is a form of news, or marketing. She then told us about how to name our blogs, and then to create a blog. All in all, she gave us a lot of excellent information! This blog is created to help teach members of: TheVillagesNetworking.com community how to blog and to grow as a site with many bloggers sharing information about miscellaneous topics. I am looking forward to our next meeting in April for another wonderful learning class!
Come and join our group and then sign up for the classes! We would love to have you! See you on April 29th, 12:00 to 3:00pm Room 102!

W & M (weight and measure) DAY AT CURVES TODAY-NOV.
Danna and I have gone another month of working out at Curves 3x's a week! It doesn't seem that long ago that we last measured! We really have been working HARD, especially with the Thanksgiving holiday here! It has paid off though! Danna's weight has stayed the same, BUT.....she has lost 3 inches in her waist!! Her total inches in all lost since October is 5.75! GREAT JOB!! YEAH! YOU GO GIRL! Proud of you! It is a lot of work, but she is doing a really good job! I, on the other hand, am not as impressive! lol I have lost 2 inches in my waist, and my weight went up 2 pounds! Not to concerned about it, because my weight fluctuates so much anyway! lol I did lose a total of 5.25 inches since October in all. Does this mean we get to PIG OUT Thursday?? NOT!! Don't want to Undo everything we have accomplished! Just remember to choose a smaller dinner plate, and be aware of what you are eating! MODERATION is the key word here! I know it will be hard because you always eat tooo much and then regret it, but going to try!! lol Be thankful for what you have, I know I am. To all of you out there, have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING, and be SAFE on the roads! Have a blessed week....till next time..

VIRTUAL ONLINE LERNING
Today, I have been participating in a blog challenge for the second time. My first was last month. What is a blog challenge you say? Well, I belong to a group of Wonderful people who have been brought together by Danna Crawford, from all over the world, through the use of the internet. Danna started this group a year ago, and named it "Virtual Online Learning". We are always learning, weather it is finding resolutions to problems we might be experiencing with the internet, or having a problem with our computer. Whatever the problem, we can post it on the Virtual Online web site, and someone will come to our rescue! There is always somebody to help us. All of our members read the posts, can give input in our "meetings", suggest topics for discussion, and get answers to questions. What is so Awesome about this is, we have the opportunity to "meet" a whole new set of potential friends from all over the world, and learn from them. Weather it be blogging, eBay buying or selling, or social networking! These challenges gives everyone a little push to just get in there and try! Some of us, like me who is a little shy, need that push. I am new to the blogging world, and am trying hard to improve. I have gained some very good information through the VOL members participation of these challenges. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy days to participate, and I look forward in reading your blogs. Have a blessed day!

VIRTUAL ONLINE LEARNING
Oh my Goodness! Where do I start? There is so much I can say about VOL and their members! Every time I attend a VOL class/webinars, I learn something new! Everyone who has hosted one has been exceptional teachers! They know what they are talking about, and are just GREAT! I just wish I had a photographic memory! They all have had good ideas on a variety of subjects. Right now, I am just starting to blog, but I hope to one day get brave enough to try selling on eBay. I buy things, but have never sold anything. Danna keeps telling me to "Just jump in there!" one of her favorite things to say! LOL I guess I just don't have enough confidence in myself yet. I probably wouldn't have started blogging if it hadn't been for her! Danna is my "security" blanket! LOL I'm sure she gets tired of all my questions, but she has never not answered them. VOL is
a constant fountain of information through all of its members. You learn a lot of new ideas and the CORRECT way of doing things to help you on the road to success. There is ALWAYS someone to help you, and are never alone. They are a group of fantastic people! Thanks a bunch to all of you!

1st Social Networking Event with OcalaNetworking.com--topic is "Twitter"
Just returned from Denny's restaurant, where Danna Crawford presented a free class on how twitter can help your business. We had a good turn out, and learned about twitter. A few of us, myself included, had no idea what twitter was all about. Danna explained how to sign in, how to make the profile, how to market your business weather it is selling on eBay, or blogging. She told us about the #, (hash tags), and how to use them. Danna explained how the use of twitter can direct traffic to our blogs, and our eBay stores. We got a lot of information from other guests as well as from Danna! After Danna's presentation, she opened the floor for discussion. We then had a chance to socialize a little. All an all, we had a very delightful, and informational, informal meeting! I'm sure everyone there had as good a time as I did. KODOS to you Danna, once again on a job well done!
Thanks an hugs, Danna!

W&M Day At Curves, September
Well,.....here I am again! There has been a little time that has past since I last posted a blog. My mind has been wondering about what to blog about., and that has been my hold up! I thought I would just say a few things about my activities. As I have stated in the past, I do walk 2 x’s a week and go to Curves, thanks to Silver Sneakers, to work out 3 x’s a week with my good friend and neighbor Danna. We had a weigh in again, (actually, this one is the second one), and my report was OK. Danna’s, on the other hand, was Fantastic! She has lost over 5 lbs, and I’m sorry that I don’t remember her other losses, but believe me when I say, SHE is doing an awesome job!! I, on the other hand, have a problem. You see, I don’t get hungry! I know, some of you might say that would be GREAT! It really isn’t, cause you eat something just because you know you have to, and not because you want to. I have been known to eat just once or twice a day! Of course as you know, that isn’t good for you. So, when I weighed in last month, I confided in Joyce, who is the owner of Curves and is the most delightful person, about my problem with my appetite. I will say, that I also was not taking vitamins, or any supplements. My measurements stayed the same, except my weight loss was 1lb, and waist loss was ½ inch. My body fat percent, however, increased by .60%! I couldn’t understand this. After hearing of my problem, she said that possibly since I don’t eat right that I have loss muscle tone. She advised me to eat 4 or 5 small meals, take a multi-vitamin, and increase my protein per day. Well, I now take a multi-vitamin, and eat more protein. Eat the snack bars, and try to eat more through out the day. Well, we just weighed in and measured again for this month. I have gained in all my measurements a total of 1 ½ inches, gained 2 ½ lbs, and gained .10% body fat! However, I have lost ½ inch in my abdomen! Joyce is pleased, and said good job working on the nutrition! She said that for my build an etc. that my top weight should be about 138, and really everything else is about where it should be. So,...I don’t know....I would like to weigh at the lowest 125 to 130 lbs., and lose some of the body fat. Oh well,...maybe next month I will level out if I keep on with the nutrition. Guess we are never really satisfied! I do want to keep fit though. At 68, life isn’t as long as it use to be when I was 21! Ha! Ha! With that,
my wish for all of you who read this, is to keep fit!
Have a blessed day.
my wish for all of you who read this, is to keep fit!

D.DAY!.........Rather M&W Day is today!
Well Folks, as some of you might know, Danna and I have been working out at Curves this past month! She joined, and I am able to participate through Silver Sneakers! Well,....today is Measure and Weight day! The dreaded day we find out how we are doing! I am happy to say, that.. Danna and I BOTH have LOST! Isn't that Great! (fan fare)....wait.. for it,....I have lost a total of 3 inches; lost 1/2 pound; and .80% BMI! Danna has a lost a total ooooof,......3.5 inches; lost 2.5 pounds; and .4% BMI!! YOU GO GIRL! I am soooooo PROUD of her! Just think, one month ago, she could hardly walk around the block without getting winded! Today, she walks around 4 blocks, and is just slightly winded! She has been working very hard, and it has paid off!!! If she keeps going the way she is, we will see a NEW Danna by the time she goes to California! That is her goal by the way!! Soooooo, a BIG congratulations to us both! Our routine is work out 3 days a week for 1/2 an hour, and walk 2, days so, she has a full week trying to do this and keeping up with all of her other projects! I am happy to be able to enjoy her company. She is always up-beat, (even when she is tired) and optimistic! We have a great time together, and I'm happy to call her friend! So, that said, lets all get behind her and give her that extra support to keep up the GREAT work!
DANNA,......HUGZZZ to you! Till next time.....your friend and neighbor, Donna
